02/13/2013 (loss of) Memory Book

Through materiality, typography, and color, this book explores the concept of memory and my personal experience of regaining my memory and cognitive function after a severe concussion in 2013. The content is a collection of my own emotional memories, words, and data from 3+ months of cognitive testing. Playing with binaries of dark and light, blurry and sharp, the book gives the viewer a dreamlike, non-linear experience of time, reflective of my own experience. The transparent pages allude to hidden messages and puzzles that become more clear as the book goes on.

After producing the book, I used my leftover scrap materials to create a series of 7 analogue postcards that carried on the concept of hidden messages through numbers. Every day for one week, I mailed one postcard to my professor in Zürich︎
